Triethylene Glycol; (TEG) - C6H14O4 -CAS No:112-27-6 It has a larger molecular structure than MEG and has two ether groups. It is clearer and less hygroscopic than DEG, but has a higher boiling point, density, and viscosity.It is a colorless, viscous liquid with a faint odour. It is an air disinfectant and moisture absorber as well as a plasticizer for vinyl polymers. It uses TEG in natural gas purification and also to dehydrate gases containing CO2, H2S and other oxygenated gases. Antifreeze is used in the manufacture of a range of consumer products, including automotive care products, building and building materials, cleaning and furniture care products, fabric, textile and leather products, fuels and related products, lubricants and greases, paints and coatings, personal care products and plastics and It is useful in the production of rubber products, cellophane, glue, cork, powdered ceramics and plasticizers. It is an ingredient in the formulation of some pigments, printing inks, inks and pastes.
