Isophthalic acid (PIA); CAS No:121-91-5 Brightness, durability, anti-abrasiveness, electrical insulation, mechanical strength, etc. Saturated and unsaturated polyester resin (UPR) is used in PET bottle production thanks to its properties. The high-performance polymer  polybenzimidazole is produced from isophthalic acid.  Also, the acid is used as an important input to produce insulation materials.
